Oh man, you guys! YOU GUYS! I'm reading Leopard Lord and it's SO BAD. I feel like a dog who has just found a half decayed and fetid fish. I just want to ROLL IN IT.

Further updates as events warrant.

[info]brown_betty: OH MAN. See, his dad's all evil, and stuff, but he's totally gonna be super-good once his dad's dead. And he assures the slave-girl that she can trust him, because he'd totally never take advantage of her, but she tells him that she's been inspected last night, and if she's not devirginized, she's gonna be in trouble! SO AGAINST HIS BETTER IMPULSES he helps her out with that problem WITH HIS PENIS.
[info]thete1: *spuh* That is *special*. OMG. You can *hear* the writer's id being dragged into the cold, unforgiving light. You can hear the *screaming* as it fights to stay warm and safe, but no! Not this id. This id must be *exposed*.
[info]brown_betty: Oh, man, Te. It's so awesome. Also, there's all this stuff where he crawls into bed with his childhood (slave) friend, and his (de-virginized) slave-girl, and sometimes, the two slaves are making out and he's all "I just want you to know, slave-friends, that I would never interfere with your desires!" and I'm all DUDE YOU ARE BEING INVITED TO A THREESOME PAY ATTENTION but no.

THAT SOUNDS LIKE A TRULY GLORIOUS NOVEL.

I can't get a bigger picture of the cover. Is he a were-leopard, or does he only own leopards?

*...*

wow. I. just. wow.

I think my brain hurts.

I might need to read this one too. I read one almost as awesome that I think might have been called The Forest Lord, where he's a lordling who sometimes randomly sprouts horns and hooves, and she's I don't remember what her story is but it's very very very loosely based on some perversion of pan/cernunnos mythology and she oogles his broad hairy chest alot. Awesome.

There's a strong tendency of novels named "The _________ Lord" to be kinda id-tastic, isn't there?

Now I want to read this thing, blast you! *grins*

Me too. Maybe it's because they found a way to get paid for exposing and embarassing themselves that badly, and it isn't stand-up comedy.

*pets Lackey and McCaffrey and Feintuch and the author of this thing, which I will now have to look up*

A friend of mine and I once made a list of all the people who would be totally oblivious to a threesome being offered (the first person was, her, for reasons you don't really care about), but it incluced clark kent AND superman.

WHAT? I am OUTRAGED.

But for the demotion of a princess to a slave girl and the changing of some fine and noble names to AWFUL NAMES, this is EXACTLY the plot of my and Robyn's masterpiece!

We even cut the Hotario/Andrinara sideplot, which this author OBVIOUSLY stole from our computers!

took a left turn in trollprincess' lj and found you.
I think it is truly sad that I've only found 2 books by this author (Alanna Moreland if I remember correctly) she is a glorius writer in a trashy sort of way, with her slaves and angst and evil dads and noble princes with cut of toes, all things that I like. You should read her other novel I think it's called "Shackle and Sword".

Hi! Stumbled across this and laughed my *ss off, because it is SO TRUE. :-)

I feel like a dog who has just found a half decayed and fetid fish. I just want to ROLL IN IT.

^This.

After I discovered I had pneumonia and probably needed to take off work and sit home and do nothing for a while to recover, I dragged myself to Half-Price books and grabbed anything in the scifi/fantasy section that looked remotely interesting. (I had a fever of 104 at the time, so I don't feel like I can be held responsible for what interested me.)

After I recovered enough to come out of the altered consciousness triggered by my brain cells frying, I honestly believed I had hallucinated this book. I'd been dropping the books back in the bag as I read and took them back to Half-Price after I was better, and I didn't really remember much of what I'd read. Although I vaguely remembered this one, I was pretty sure my brain just made it up.

But omg. It was real.

Wow, this is totally awesome in every way! Thanks for letting me know about this. Supposedly this writer has written another book which is similarly awesome, so the next time you want to induce hallucinations, you might want to look for it.

Next time I am sick, I am *so* getting more by Moreland. Or something by Laurell K. Hamilton, whose oeuvre is similarly idtastic.

I think I want to read this book now. It sounds like a marvelous example of badfic. Anything wacky enough that someone could think they hallucinated it *has* to be amusing. Hopefully my local library has it. They have tons of Laurell K. Hamilton, who I read for the crack/porn factor and haven't bought since Anita started sleeping with practically everyone.
