Oh well, boys will by boys. Ain't they cute?

This is the cover for JLA #10, by Turner. For full view, click. If you're not into body modding, you may find it somewhat disquieting.
Meltzer, here, says, "yes, this is AFTER we asked to reduce Power Girl's chest. I call them the bottled cities of Kandor." A few thoughtful men pointed out that, um, if anyone was wondering why women don't read comics... and uh, also? Boobs don't work that way.
Sample fanboy defence:
there are women out there who look just like Power Girl, they are called Porn Stars. [..] I find it interesting though that so far the people who have proclaimed that this image is demeaning to women have been men. [...] You go on and on about the corporate mentality of DC Comics and attacking them for their 'diversity.' Yet you are attacking them simply because there is a cover coming out featuring one of their characters with large boobs. I for one think this is ridiculous when in the body of their universe as a whole, there is lots of diversity. All encompassing gender, race, creed, etc. [...]See, whereas you're looking at Wonder Woman's ass, Power Girl'sboobs and Supergirl's mid-section, there are some readers like myself who prefer to ignore that sort of stuff to watch Wonder Woman rescue abused women (Wonder Woman #5) or Power Girl recruit new members of a team she believes in (JSofA #1) or Supergirl try to figure out her place in the world (Supergirl #12)
Just because you disagree with the way a character is drawn does not diminish a message that can be conveyed.
Don't judge a comic book by its cover.

I'm sorry that I don't care enough about why girls are not buying comics. Yes, maybe Power Girl's portrayal has something to do with it. Maybe it doesn't. I don't know. I used to work in a comics store and I had several female buyers. I don't recall a single one of them saying that Power girl was keeping them from buying comics. It was all a matter of taste in what they liked and disliked.
dude. lighten up.it's comics, it's entertainment... it's fun... and ya know what? some girls just have big breasts. How is that offensive to women? And actually, other than the overly thin waistline, the anatomy really isn't that far off... it's comics. People are exagerated. It's the whole POINT!
I don't have any problem with the cover at all. Powergirl just happens to be a female that has large breasts. Just like in the real world women are different shapes and sizes. Plus Powergirl is a person who would wear this outfit. It's just who she is.
Looking at this cover makes me feel like Michael Turner just walked up to me, came on my face, and then left.
Sweet motor-fucking zombies, you invertebrates, it's not about her breast size, it's that apparently her breasts are so crucial that Turner couldn't be bothered to get the rest of her right. Yes, I've seen fucking big-titted women, you perennially-pubescent cretins. In fact, I was able to look above their tits so as to notice how and where they attached to their bodies. Remember bodies? Or as you apparently think of them, the life support system for breasts? Breasts are attached to women's bodies. With connective tissue. These look like lovingly shaded cantaloupes with a slice taken off to accommodate her rib cage. And while we're on the topic, what the hell is up with her rib cage? And her spine? Why do her elbows start parallel to the bottom of her rib cage? What the hell is up with her forearms? She looks like fucking Popeye.
Hugs and kisses,
Betty.
P. S.
I have a low opinion of you.
