Semi-free fic!
Here's the deal. You can request fic from a prompt, or missing scene or one previous/subsequent to one of my stories. But I'm asking you to go out of your way to give feedback you wouldn't otherwise, first.

If you've never sent feedback before, here is a good guide. Look at this as a challenge to yourself. If you've never sent feedback before, a one sentence bit of feedback is a big step. If you generally give a paragraph, a bit more than a sentence would be nice. Obviously, don't flame, but feel free to leave concrit.

Most of us don't send feedback for every single fic we read, fanart we enjoy, and vid we download. We feel bad, but we don't. For us, (because I fit in this category) all you have to do is send feedback to someone who you wouldn't have.

But what if you really do give feedback to every piece of fic or vid you finish? Well, first, you are an exemplary human being, and second, I don't want you to be left out, so please consider sending a bit of feedback to what [info]thefourthvine calls infrastructure people: "archivists, site designers and hosts, mailing list and community moderators, people who run challenges, people who collect and share useful links, people who provide downloads and pimp kits, etc. Basically, people who create or maintain the machinery that drives and supports fandom."

Who you cannot feedback: Me. This isn't for my ego, this is meant to encourage people to leave feedback they might not have otherwise. Not that I don't love feedback! I adore it! I am a pile of feedback love! But this isn't about me.

All stories will be minimum drabble length (100 words) although knowing me, I'm expecting them to be mostly 400-1000 words. Tell me if you think your feedback deserves a longer fic. I don't want to write anyone a drabble who left an essay. All stories will be posted to my livejournal. I will do my best to write your prompt, but I can't guarantee anything. If I can't write a character you ask for, I'll request a substitute. Promptness not guaranteed. I may halt submissions so that I can do them in order received.

If you want to play, leave me a link to the feedback you left, or, if not on livejournal, the story, (vid, fanart, website, whatever,) itself. I'm not going to be checking up on you, I just want a record. Then give me a prompt or request!

I've got nothing just this second, but this is a really neat idea. I hope it takes off.

Me too! Only not too fast?

Feedbacked the first unread fic I found on my f-list, because I'm a cheap ficwhore like that. *g*

Um... Bruce and Alfred, post 'tec? Or Ibn and Bruce, or... Ah, what the heck. I put myself in your hands. Your prompts are always cooler than mine anyway.
Betty[info]brown_betty on February 19th, 2006 03:01 am (UTC)
I don't have the canon for Ibn, but Bruce and Alfred? Mm, baby. I presume you mean 'tec 816? [fires up word processor]

I presume you mean 'tec 816?

*hugs 'tec 815/816* ...maybe-ish? *looks at OYL spoilers, hugs 'tec 815/816 a bit more*

LOL. I feedback a LOT, and I rec a lot, and I always love when people say thanks, so this? This is grand. I flist surfed over here, but do you mind if I friend?

Anyway, I'm playing! I feedbacked outside of SG-1, which is my primary fandom. And just for good measure, I appreciated a fellow ficpimp in a journal entry too. 'Cause I just don't do that enough.

I was just perusing you LJ and I noted a particular photograph of one Nathan Fillion in a leather kilt? And I can now think of nothing else. I request Firefly. With Mal in a leather kilt of some kind and everyone on the ship noticing. *g*

I'll be in my bunk.

Friend away! But I should warn you I'm primarily active in DC comics fandom, at the moment.

Mm… Kilts. This is a brilliant idea on your part, I'll see what I can do with it.

I originally didn't leave feedback for [info]harriet_spy's Salvage Rights because all the other reviews said it better than I could, but I went back and left a review anyway.

What I'd really like is another riff on [info]sharpest_rose's Gold, with something all the Robins (OT4!), but I realize that's being greedy, so... If I might request something threesome-ish? Tim/Kon/Cass would be my preference, though I also like Tim/Kon/Cassie, Tim/Kon/Bart, Tim/Dick/Jason, Tim/Steph/Jason, etc....

I like Tim, can you tell? :)
Betty[info]brown_betty on February 19th, 2006 11:31 pm (UTC)
Sure! My porn-fu is not strong, so if you want a threesome, I'm afraid it will probably be short-ish. It'll get longer if you don't mind me pushing the rating down. Any preference?
Amarin Rose[info]amarin_rose on February 20th, 2006 01:06 am (UTC)
I have no problem with a lower rating. My porn-fu is also weak. :)

I don't know if you read War Crimes but could you write something involving Arthur Brown the Cluemaster responding to/reacting to/finding out about/etc. Stephanie's death.
Betty: We're not gay![info]brown_betty on February 20th, 2006 04:59 am (UTC)
Interesting idea! Who did you feedback then?
Laura[info]teekoness on February 20th, 2006 08:20 am (UTC)
Here it is.
jamjar: strong tea needed[info]jamjar on February 20th, 2006 11:33 pm (UTC)
Feedbacked something I've been rereading on the times when my flist is quiet.

As for a request... well, normally I'd be terribly boring and just request something like Kon, Cass and Tim, or Dox and Kyle (possibly with Connor looking on and trying not remain zen), but you've written such a good Firefly and I do like a nice River and Simon fic...

So I'll go with any of the above and tea.
Betty[info]brown_betty on February 21st, 2006 03:59 am (UTC)
Mmmm… tea.
rubynye: Bart Endorsed (paigedayspring)[info]rubynye on February 21st, 2006 06:32 pm (UTC)
This is a grand idea! I won't be joining it because if I read something to the end i feedback it, and if I have time I try to mention at least one specific about it, and I write archive maintainers thanks, and so on. So... it would seem a bit much for me to get something for what I do anyway. But I wanted to praise you for doing this, because it's a grand idea.
Betty: Hey baby.[info]brown_betty on February 21st, 2006 07:44 pm (UTC)
I kinda feel like a jerk, because basically, it's harder to play if you're a better person. I wish I could have addressed that.
rubynye: Birds and Bike (jemppu)[info]rubynye on February 22nd, 2006 05:08 pm (UTC)
Oh, gosh, no, *don't* feel like a jerk! You're encouraging people to feedback and you're writing fic! It's all good!

Here's the feedback: (I suck at HTML. Sorry.)
http://jen-in-japan.livejournal.com/64710.html?thread=785606#t785606

That was probably the first time my fb exceeded LJ's character length. Go me!

*ponders* I'd really like something on how the world reacts to Superman and Batman being a couple- the other capes or the general public, whoever. It can be funny or angsty, I'm leaving it up to you- oh, and I'd love Lois' reaction, but it's not necessary.

Thanks for creating such an awesome challenge!
Betty[info]brown_betty on October 3rd, 2006 01:08 am (UTC)
W00t! You're awesome, what nice feedback! I'm afraid this fic is more likely to be crack-addled than angsty, so I hope that's okay?
Tamanna: spooky[info]swingandswirl on October 3rd, 2006 02:17 am (UTC)
*grins and blushes* Don't worry about the crack, I'm very flattered that you're actually taking the time to write this.
